What is Student Legal Services?
Student Legal Services is one of the services offered by the ASOSU for the OSU students of the Corvallis campus. Legal Services are provided to OSU students through Access the Law, and paid for through the Corvallis campus student incidental fees. Our office provides legal advice and representation to OSU students when they have a dispute that does not pertain to the University.
Areas of Assistance
ASOSU Student Legal Services provides legal advice and representation to OSU Students when the other party to the dispute is not a part of the University or one of its administrative units. Advising consists of legal consultation and limited scope representation in the following areas of assistance:

Whether your specific area of assistance is listed, all students are encouraged to contact the Student Legal Services office if they have a legal conflict or question. If our attorneys cannot assist, they may be able to provide referrals to additional resources.

Notary Hours
Our notary hours are the same as our reception hours. However, we do request that you contact our office in advance to confirm availability of our notary. An attorney may wish to speak with you before we notarize any document.
Office Information
As of 9/22/2021 our reception desk will be open for in-person operation. Clients will be given the option for Zoom, phone, or in-person meetings with our staff attorneys. We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your legal needs.

Costs & Fees
This office is supported by student fees and its services are free of charge to all eligible OSU students. However, any costs incurred outside the office (filing fees, service fees, postage and copying costs) are the responsibility of the student.
