Judicial Council

Open Positions:

Judicial Councilor

$16.50/hr for up to 5 hours a week

The Judicial Council (JC) is a dispute resolution body comprising seven councilors appointed by the ASOSU President and confirmed by the ASOSU Senate. The JC serves as the final authority on all questions of interpretation of the ASOSU Constitution and Statutes. Terms on the council run for two years from when a councilor begins, except in cases of resignation or removal from office. (NOTE: qualified applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of the time they have left at the University.)

Executive Branch

Open Positions:

Chief of Staff

$17.00/hr for up to 24 hours a week

The Chief of Staff shall assist the ASOSU in the coordination and organization of the Executive Branch and help address student needs at Oregon State University. This includes supporting the ASOSU President and Vice President in the programming of ASOSU Executive branch staff, working with the ASOSU President to advise and provide oversight on ASOSU Budgets, and helping with meeting agendas and logistics.

Policy Director

$17.00/hr for up to 24 hours a week

The Policy Director serves on the ASOSU President’s team to advocate for and support priorities aimed at improving tuition affordability, community livability, social justice, and other priorities of concern to the President and in service of the campus community.
 

Policy advocacy includes communicating these priorities to local officials, including those affiliated with the county and city, and from time to time, the administration of the university itself. It also, importantly, includes interfacing with state and federal legislators to provide ASOSU and the student body at-large a voice in legislative affairs. One of ASOSU’s primary responsibilities to the OSU student body is to represent students in areas of advocacy, and this position will play a significant role in that aim.

Diversity and Inclusion Director

$17.00/hr for up to 24 hours a week

The Diversity and Inclusion Director serves on the ASOSU President’s team to support development among student leadership, and at the university, the values of diversity and inclusion. The Diversity and Inclusion Director helps to ensure ASOSU fulfills its mission of representing all students at Oregon State University by working to build relationships with student groups and organizations representing a multitude of backgrounds and life experiences.
 

These efforts include collaborating with ASOSU executive staff and student leaders on ASOSU’s ongoing advocacy, with a focus on identifying and addressing inequities, building community belonging, and helping acknowledge the necessary steps to ensure equal access to important resources.

Presidential Affairs Director

$17.00/hr for up to 24 hours a week

The Presidential Affairs Director shall assist the ASOSU President and Vice President in the executive priorities of their administration, which include but are not limited, to student health and wellness, fiscal transparency, community engagement, and the success of the extended disabled and international student pilot program.

Records Clerk

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Records Clerk shall assist the ASOSU in its mission by performing key recordkeeping tasks and supporting the procedural operations of the three branches of student government. This includes the recording of minutes and maintenance of materials in the public interest. This position works according to the provisions of Title II § E of the ASOSU Statutes, establishing an independent executive branch position appointed by a committee comprising the, President, Vice President, Student Fee Committee Chair, and Judicial Council Chair, subject to the confirmation of the ASOSU Senate.

Website & Marketing Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Marketing and Web Development Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s Public Relations Team to develop marketing materials and marketing plans for various ASOSU campaigns, initiatives, events, and programs with the goal of improving the visibility of ASOSU within the OSU campus and community. The Marketing and Web Development Coordinator will also be overseeing all marketing efforts, and work with the Social Media Coordinator to distribute materials through the ASOSU social media platforms and will update and maintain the ASOSU website to cultivate student engagement.

Veteran & Military Affairs Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Veteran and Military Affairs Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s Policy team in the ASOSU Executive Branch to advocate for veteran and non-traditional students and identifies issues affecting students belonging to these communities. The Veteran and Military Affairs Coordinator will work closely with other members of the ASOSU Executive Branch and the Diversity Team to develop community-based initiatives and programs to raise awareness, highlight resources, and engage the student body with the identified issues related to veteran and active military students.

Social Media Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Social Media Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s Public Relations Team to promote ASOSU and develop social media marketing plans for various ASOSU campaigns, initiatives, events, and programs with the goal of improving the visibility of ASOSU within the OSU campus and community. The Social Media Coordinator will also be overseeing all ASOSU social medias, and work with the Website and Marketing Coordinator to distribute materials through the ASOSU social media platforms and collaborate to update and maintain the ASOSU website to cultivate student engagement.

Queer Student Advocacy Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Queer Student Advocacy Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s team to support projects and campaigns that will increase inclusivity and awareness through outreach and advocacy to all communities of OSU, specifically the LGBTQIA2S+ community. The Queer Student Advocacy Coordinator will work closely with other members of the ASOSU Executive branch and the Diversity Team to develop initiatives and programs to raise awareness and engage the student body on issues related to the LGBTQIA2S+ community, along with working on other diversity and equity priorities.

Outreach Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Outreach Coordinator’s primary duty is to support the ASOSU executive branch in forging and enhancing relationships with Oregon State’s student body and community. This involves organizing, interacting, and communicating with the student body through tabling events, club and Greek life chapter presentations, and marketing ventures. This role will also involve coordinating with the other executive branch members to ensure accurate and equitable participation in outreach and engagement events.

Nontraditional Student Affairs Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Nontraditional Student Affairs Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s team to assist with outreach and advocacy on behalf of nontraditional students, including graduate students, working to ensure that all students on the Corvallis campus are supported. This coordinator will also work closely with other members of the ASOSU Executive Branch and the Diversity and Policy Teams to develop diversity-based initiatives and programs to raise awareness and engage the student body on issues related to the ASOSU Executive Branch diversity priorities. This position will serve as a liaison between ASOSU and Graduate student clubs and orgs, as well as the Coalition of Graduate Employees.

International & Diverse Student Policy Coordinator

The International and Diverse Student Policy Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s team in the ASOSU Executive Branch to advocate for international and diverse student communities and identify issues affecting student belonging. The International and Diverse Student Policy Coordinator will work closely with the Diversity Team, the Policy Team, and the campus services and programs, including the cultural centers, to understand the institutional inequities on our campus. The International and Diverse Student Policy Coordinator will work with campus administrators and the ASOSU and Faculty Senate to write and implement legislation which addresses policy inequities that affect Oregon State students.

Local & State Legislative Policy Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Local and State Legislative Policy Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s team to advocate for and support priorities aimed at improving tuition affordability, community livability, social justice, and other priorities of concern to the President and in service of the campus community, with a particular focus on local politics, as well as supporting legislative advocacy with the Policy Director. 
 

Policy advocacy includes communicating these priorities to local officials, including those affiliated with the county and city, and from time to time, the administration of the university itself. It also, importantly, includes interfacing with state and federal legislators to provide ASOSU and the student body at-large a voice in legislative affairs. The Local and State Legislative Policy Coordinator will work closely with other members of the ASOSU Executive Branch and Policy team to support legislative advocacy efforts.

Environmental Sustainability Coordinator

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator serves on the ASOSU President’s team to advocate for and support priorities aimed at improving the environmental sustainability of campus and community practices. This also includes advocacy on issues of sustainability and environmental justice, and other priorities of concern to the President and in service of the campus community. 

The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator includes communicating these priorities to policymakers on all levels of policy applicable to environmental sustainability issues, including the administration of the university itself. The Environmental Sustainability Coordinator will work closely with other members of the ASOSU Executive Branch and Policy Team to further the President’s sustainability priorities.

Archivist

$16.50/hr for up to 18 hours a week

The Archivist shall assist the ASOSU in performing key recordkeeping tasks and supporting procedural operations of the branches of the student government. This includes maintenance of materials in the public interest. This position works providing to the provisions of Title II § E of the ASOSU Statutes. The responsibilities of the Archivist are defined by the above referenced statute. The duties below primarily serve as a summary of the Archivist’s role.

Disabled Student Affairs and Campus Accessibility Coordinator (2 openings)

The Disabled Student Affairs and Campus Accessibility Coordinator serves as a part of the Diversity and Inclusion team of the ASOSU Executive Branch to facilitate the continuation of the pilot program for the disabled students community. The coordinator will be responsible for programming and event planning, outreach, and community building for students with disabilities. Responsibilities will also include assessing the needs and desires of this community and facilitating directives in line with the assessment.

The International Student Affairs Coordinator serves as a part of the Diversity and Inclusion team of the ASOSU Executive Branch to facilitate the continuation of the pilot program for the international students community. Responsibilities will also include assessing the needs and desires of this community and facilitating directives in line with the assessment.
